We choose to go there for birthdays and special occasions, and the food is phenomenal. The owner is incredible in the space always feels like home. I recommend the Montoo it is my favorite dish every single time"

Portions are giant, but a lot of the main courses can be found on the appetizers or sides menus, which was a nice option for our son who doesn’t eat much. Specifically worth trying: the pumpkin was phenomenal and the chocolate pudding dessert was delicious."

We always started the same way - the Sambosay Goshti, their deep-fried pastries filled with minced beef, chickpeas, and parsley. We’d split one order and then each have a bowl of the Aush soup, their Afghan noodle soup with yogurt and fresh herbs and we almost always ended up ordering the Kabab-E-Murgh, their beautifully grilled chicken marinated in herbs and spices, served with saffron rice. Simple, comforting, perfect every time. Panjshir is everything a family-owned restaurant should be - consistent, genuine, and made with care. The flavors have never wavered. This is not a trendy spot; it’s the real thing, and Falls Church is lucky to have it. If you haven’t been, please go. And if you used to go and haven’t been in a while, it’s time to come back."
